Overview
The support group is provided for any family member or significant other who is affected by someone else's alcohol and/or drug use. The groups are a non-judgmental safe space for people to talk about the issues they face and explore what options are available to them. They work on the principals of collective wisdom and mutual support and are not a substitute for professional support.
The groups are facilitated by parents and/or family members with a lived experience. They are trained to facilitate the groups providing hope and understanding. Their role is to guide the group in a way that ensures everyone is heard, respected and empowered.
This group is also for people who are not yet ready to engage in the Six STEPS program.
If you have any specific access needs due to disability, language or other requirement, please contact the PFDS team at aodmhsupport@mhc.wa.gov.au before registering.
We are committed to supporting people from diverse backgrounds or with a disability to have the same opportunity to participate.
