About ADMHSS

The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Support Service (ADMHSS) empowers individuals concerned about their alcohol or other drug use and related mental health challenges to access assistance, while also supporting the people who support them, including families, carers, concerned others, and professional healthcare workers.

Making the decision to phone a help line can often be intimidating, especially if this is something you have never done before, or perhaps you are not even certain if you have a problem let alone what to do about it.

We hope to show you not only what a telephone helpline can do for you but also help explain what happens when people call us.

Currently ADMHSS runs three main phone services:

  • The Alcohol and Drug Support Line which is for people with concerns about their own alcohol or drug use
  • The Parent and Family Drug Support Line for those with concerns about the alcohol or drug use of their children, partner or other loved ones
  • The Here For You Support Line which was launched in 2022, to provide support for people with concerns surrounding their own or another's mental health and/or concurrent drug use.

These helplines are available free of charge to all residents of Western Australia every day of the year including public holidays. All these lines are totally confidential and ADMHSS will never share any of your personal details unless there is a clear risk of self-harm or a serious danger to other people in which case, we have a duty of care to ensure you are safe. If you disclose to us that you are using illicit substances, we will absolutely not pass this information onto the police.

The ADMHSS is provided by the Mental Health Commission, which is working towards Western Australians leading healthy and fulfilling lives.
